Hey Guys,

I was wondering if any of you with greater knowledge on pc's could help me with a few questions before I go ahead and make any decisions/purchases.

I currently have an i5-2550k @3.4ghz with a gtx 580 on an asus P8 Z68-V/GEN3 motherboard (750w psu).

I am looking to improve the performance I have whilst gaming, so the questions is; would simply upgrading my graphics card help with performance?

I have been looking at the gtx 760, I believe this card will fit the motherboard that I currently have.

Maximum I am looking to spend is £400 for graphics card/cpu/motherboard if needed. Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys

I would say buy a good CPU cooler and Overclock it to roughly 4.5Ghz and buy a New GPU.

780 or R9 290 depending on what side of the fence you like.

I agree that a GPU upgrade would be the best bet. That cpu is still more than capable. As stated by Finners get yourself a decent cooler and overclock it.

Also What power supply do you currently have (Make/Model) ?

Cheers for the feedback guys.

Currently have an ocz ZSseries 750w power supply. I also have an Ocuk H2flo Single Fan CPU cooler, do you recommend I get a better one? any you would recommend?

Is that an single radiator All-in-One water cooler jobby? Should be adequate to get around the 4.4Ghz mark, depending on what your CPU overclocks like.

I would overclock the cpu first with your current cooler and see what the temps are like. If it doesn't cut the mustard then something like the Alpenfohn Matterhorn Pure edition would be a good cheap option (Assuming it fits in your case and your current Ram is low profile).

The PSU is pretty decent and should cope fine with a new graphics card.
