Hi Guys,

I am hoping to upgrade my gaming PC and as a newbie, i would like some advice.

My general specs are:
Windows 7 64bit operating system
intel pentium Rcore i5-4440 3.10ghz
8gb ram
700w power supply
i have a Radeon R9 270 graphics card (2gb) ( thinking this might need the upgrade)
my harddrive has more than enough space

Thats pretty much it.
My budget is around £200 but less if can, also as newbie if any hardware upgrades you suggest can be installed myself, then let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Damian

An SSD would be nice, it wont give you any extra frames per seconds, but it makes the overall PC feel faster.

Is it a Pentium or an i5? Imagine it's the i5 but you also have Pentium in the name.

Which PSU model is it specifically?

And which case?

it does say windows home pentium....
the case is faily big.... its a stand up case.... dont know if thats any help
psu is a INWIN DESERT FOX COMMANDER 3

That would be windows home premium. :)

START > right-click Computer > Properties. That'll confirm which processor you have.

It's ok, just make sure any new video card will fit. Some are quite long and don't fit in every ATX case out there.

Thanks. Tis a true albeit average 700W with a mixture of Jap/Teapo caps. Should be fine for any single card. Some don't deliver their full rating on the 12v (important for CPU/video card especially). That's why the model is important to know for recommending upgrades (depending which).

See if you can confirm which CPU.

Ok thanks for that. Ive been advised that the gtx 970 is the card to go for but its £250, are there non similar that are cheaper?

thanks
