Looking to upgrade a tattered system to something that is most likely going to last

Looked at that too as it houses a Rare RTX3080 but not sure if price is good for the KF CPU and low spec MSI Board? Would love some advice from peeps with more knowledge :D

I would also look at what PSU is in there too and hope its not one of those Kolink ones, if it is you should ask them to swap it out for something better.

If it's aimed at gaming then a large 1tb+ nvme or Sata SSD for games would be good improvement over the slow loading HDD.

PSU is no doubt completely substandard cheapo.
That's the part pretty much always skimped on in pre-builds touting fashion parts.

Also in such high budget PC tiny half TB SSD starting to fill after couple big games is something between bad joke and insult.
1TB SSD is norm for £1000 cheaper builds.

And on that budget level would definitely want to have more than normal level 8 cores.
New consoles have 8 core CPU with 7 cores dedicated exclusively for running games.
So especially when number of those consoles in homes picks up, game developers are certain to start demanding lots of cores for good running of heavier games.
And 8 core simply isn't much considering all resource hogging bloatware in PCs and possible background softwares to last.

Also at least if you're planning on moving to 4K monitor, that Nvidia's skimped 10GB VRAM isn't much for many years into future.
That's actually same amount as new Xbox has memory intended for GPU usage!
Graphics card will be anyway certain to start aging notably in couple years.
