Not the best with components but just tried to have a go with getting new components for upgrading my PC.

This is what i have.

AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor
    Intel 335 Series 20nm 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive
    TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
    Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply
    Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gbs 64MB
    Antec GX500 Midi-Tower
Raijintek Themis Direct Contact CPU Cooler
    OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter

I'm looking to upgrade the Motherboard, CPU, GPU and RAM to this.

  • Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
    Kingston Fury Black 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4
    EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock ACX 2.0 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Would this be compatible? Feedback would be great!

Cheers

You should run memory in dual channel mode for max optimisation say 2 x 4gb or 2x 8gb. The gtx 980 is not worth the money at the moment its overpriced compared to the 390x
