Hey Guys,

I bought my PC from here in February 2007, and upgraded my graphics card & power supply in October 2008. So, I think it's about time to upgrade again.

Each time you guys helped me get the best bang for my buck, so here I am again :D

My current setup is as follows:

O/S: Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
MOBO: Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB)
GFX: Asus ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express)
RAM: GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency Dual Channel
PSU: Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply
HDD: 160gb 7200rpm, dunno the brand
CD/DVD: Liteon DVD-8900 16x DVD±RW/RAM (Black)

I should probably mention my CD/DVD drive doesn't work ever since I changed my case, it powers up but my PC doesn't know it's there :(

I use my pc for playing games, and lately I have been getting 50fps on quake 3, a mega old game and on new games it's not even worth trying :S

I have tried to format it, but the fps still stayed very very low.
When I first got Windows 7 a few months ago I still had roughly the same fps as XP so I don't think its to do with the O/S.. :(

My budget is roughly £200-300 but might be able to spend a little more if I can't get anything good for that much.

Any help is much appreciated guys

You should look at getting 2gb more ram, i think thats the most problem in games i guess. Then you can look at OC your cpu but you well need a decent cooler. Finally you could grab another 4850 if your board does xfire. If it doesnt you could try sell your 4850 and move up to a 5770.

or even just up to a 4890 from MM perhaps, if bang for buck is more your need than DX11 support. Definately agree more RAM is needed, other than that its not a bad setup tbh.

Another thing I forgot to say was that I was planning on buying a new monitor and running dual monitors(even when gaming both will be on & being used since I'm a multitasker)

They are both 22", 1 with resolution 1920x1080, the other 1680x1050.

Does that mean I will need a better graphics card or just one with a lot of ram?

I think a 5850 should be able to do both if your only gaming on one but im not really good with using more than 1 screen so hopefully can clear that up for you.
