Hi, Had my PC now for around 5.5/6 years and apart from the odd upgrade I need to bring parts of it up to scratch as some of the upcoming games i think I am going to struggle with.

Current:

CPU i5 760 @ 3.25Ghz
Memory: 12GB DDR3
Mobo: GB P55A-UD3
GPU: R9 380
PSU: XFX 650 Modular
HDD: 2 x SSD (128GB) 2 x HDD (1TB & 2TB)

Its the CPU, Mobo and Memory which i want to aim for, GPU was recently replaced as my old one just failed completely.

Regarding HDD's was probably going to retire my 2 128GBs and either go for a Samsung 850 Evo/Pro, the PCI Express ones feel like over kill currently.

Been out of the loop upgrades wise hence coming back here after previous advise. Been looking at the 4790K, but wondered is it worth going to the new Skylake CPUs? Any advice and recommendations on CPU, Mobo and Memory, memory wise would want 12/16GB.

GPU has just been upgraded and i think my PSU can continue as is.

And Price limit £500/600 - For CPU, Mobo, memory
Would stretch to £220 for Intel SSD if people think its worth it over the 850.

This will require a cooler, if you have one already that fits socket 1155/56 etc then you can use it on this also, just get new thermal paste.

If you want to overclock here's a guide I did - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18690667

If you want an i7 CPU then instead of Skylake you will find X99+5820K a better more powerful setup,

Again a cooler is needed and one that fits socket 2011.

If you need a cooler for either of these bundles check it will fit inside your case.

Both these boards are ATX in size and the same as what you currently have.

8GB of RAM is fine for games, the X99 setup is 16GB because of it being best to run four sticks in quad channel operation.

Cheers for the recommendations. I don't have a fan for either socket but i am leaning towards the i7 currently any recommendations on fans for the 2011 socket? Should last me another 3/4 years hopefully.:)
