So, I think that my motherboard is giving up the ghost (x58 system) and see no point buying another mobo.

So what would people suggest for a replacement mobo, cpu and ram?

I currently have the following

2 x 850 250gb ssds
850w corsair builder psu
Antec 240mm aio
S340 case
1080p monitor
Sapphire 390 gpu

Pc is mainly used for gaming but does some video editing as well. Budget is going to be £500 I rearly get the money to spend on my pc so could do with the best I could get.

Will be hard to get under £500 for all three components unless you are happy with an i5. But you state you do some video editing so I doubt that is the case. I'd recomend ryzen r7 1700 and an Asus Prime X370 which comes in at £485 leaving little room for ram budget. Try reach for another £50-100 and you'll be set.

Ok, after having a look around I have come up with this.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £497.97
(includes shipping: £0.00)

anything worth changing? I also get free delivery. never going to go SLI\Crossfire so I have changed the mobo for a cheaper version

Seems good to me. Though I'd personally go for a 16gb kit as it's the norm these days. But it fits your budget and should run just fine.
