Just been into my local gamestation and saw a shelf both 360 and PC versions of Prey on...With a £30 difference!!

360 was £50 and PC was a mere £20!

Utterly crazy.

Why is this?

Because they can!!

And pc games aren't selling as well as they used too, while people will buy 360 titles like prey because right now there are no other titles to buy.

I beleive a fee has to be paid to microsoft/Sony on each console game sold(this is how console manufacturers make there money back on the console hardware they make losses on), oh and Greed :).

Theres no fee to pay on PC games as no one owns the platform, anyone can make and release a PC game.

Exactly, they sell a triple core cpu and gfx card for next to nothing compared to what my pc cost to build. My PC is relative plop now but with a 3700 and a 6800gt, but at the time those two items cost £430 alone. More than my premium by some margin.

Some of that cost has to be made back on games.
