PC vs the consoles

PC wins it for me but I can understand why some people wouldn't want to get into it.

Consoles are more comfortable to handle, most games I play on PC, have to be handled from a desk. Can't use a gamepad in many of them, keyboard and mouse is my only setup.

Sitting closer to the screen means that I'm losing my sight quicker.

I'm annoyed when somebody tries to chat me up when I'm gaming.

You spend more time customizing your PC/games than actually playing them. Trust me on this one, it's a nightmare.

You own (whether you buy or download, I don't care) more games than you can possibly ever play/finish.

You're effectively becoming a basement dweller, you can work/learn/communicate with friends/game/relax/do shopping/eat/have sex/sleep at your desk in a dark corner of your room. You're EOL in other words.

As I said, PC all the way, you can watch all pr0n there is with it!

Just for fun I threw together a self-build PC spec that should play modern PC games very well without breaking the bank.

It is certainly more than what a console costs, however it offers a different level of gaming. Computationally, it is much more powerful (fully capable of rendering games at 1080p @ 60FPS, while consoles usually only manage sub-720p in modern titles) and more flexible, plus the games cost much less to buy (especially if you make the majority of your purchases during steam sales).

However, as well as the cost it usually requires more understanding to work well (and build). But if you do have this knowledge (or are willing to learn) then your gaming experience will generally be much better imho.

You're also gonna need a keyboard and mouse to play the games, and a monitor to see them on, and a headset/speakers to hear them through :p

For the mouse and keyboard - that is fair consoles do come with controllers. This and this would be my choice - total extra cost £32. Also, console controllers can be used in games perfectly well, but personally I would mainly game with KB+mouse.

As for monitor and speakers - yes these would be required but consoles don't come with these either so I was generally leaving them out of the equation. Just like consoles - a gaming PC like the one above can be hooked up to a HDTV via HDMI and both the picture and sound will be played through the TV (or attached speakers). Alternatively, 1080p 24in PC monitors can be had for £150 and decent quality 2.1 speakers for £20.

and a house to play them maybe? so pc gaming is uber expensive it costs at least £100.000

I sold my 360 because the graphics were poo and I was sick of kids screaming down my ear, the games are far too expensive and the controller did my head in, only bought one because my mates have one, PC > Mates > 360
