Ran windows update and when it was installing the intel/nvidia drivers everything froze, could only move my mouse. Did a hard reset and my OS wouldn't load. I'd ran DDU previously as I was trying to get rid of microsoft basic display adapter with an error sign next to it in device manager. After this I had trouble even getting the PC to boot up, eventually it did somehow and I did a full reformat. Everything seems to be working fine at the moment (touch wood) as I've ran prime95 and it passed fine after an hour. My issue now is microsoft basic display adapter is still there with an error sign and I know if I install the drivers from windows update it will do the same again, also HWmonitor no longer shows my 12v or 5v rails whereas it did previously. My ASUS Maximus Gene V motherboard is showing a 40 code on the LED, no idea if this is good or bad, from what I can remember it was always A0.

Here's a screenshot of HWmonitor voltages:

To resolve your code 40 - Try pressing the MEMOK button if you have one on the mobo to re-train the memory settings.

The 40 button hasn't appeared for a while and I've read that sometimes it happens by accident instead of displaying A0.

Memtest had 11 errors on Test 13 Hammer Test but I've read this is an issue with certain DDR3 modules due to the Row Hammer Bug.

I'm tempted to switch them out though for some sticks that don't have the issue.
