I'm currently using the Microsoft wireless wheel and I'm thinking of selling it and upgrading. Probably to a g27. I play assetto corsa and might even sign upto I racing

However it is my birthday soon and I'm wondering if I can get anything better for 200 second hand??

I also have an xbox one and suppose I could buy the adaptor for the Logitech if they bring one out like they did for the 360
Thanks

I would look for belt driven ones rather than geared like fanatec , for that money you can even get brand new CSR"s of GT2"s. they also have ABS and engine vibration motors in the wheel, making it less sterile. IMO fanatec re a deff step up from logitech.

Will that come with pedals though?

You can buy them new as bundle or on their own, I know for example the CSR comes up at about £150, they are sold in euro"s so you can get a lower end pedal for around the £200 mark. you could also get second hand G27 pedals i should think quite easy second hand for about £50 or under. Many people who get into serious sim racing often start with g27./5"s and upgrade their pedals to clubsports. So there is a lot of redundant g27/5 pedals out there.

Just had a look on a second hand site and there is a fanatec csr wheel with the basical pedals for £160 but they want £30 to post. Not too bad?

Hopefully if I get the fanatec csr wheel they will bring out an adaptor for the xbox one. I have an iphone 4s which I should sell soon and a computer case etc so should get the money soon :D

Sounds good. they are two big boxes so it does cost a lot of shipping . I have a CSR and have no plans to upgrade it, the next step up costs huge amounts and is a big jump. Bang for buck i think the CSR is the sweetspot. The CSR is more an all round wheel, that suits road open cars as well as tin tops and oval. The GT2 is slightly more muddied as is more heavy. but has a lovely alcantara covering, If ovals and nascar is more your thing i would go for that.

Nah. Im into GT racing and drifting mainly :)

Either one of those will be a great buy, I cant emphasize the advantages the other two vibration motors gives you in the wheel. For example without looking at your gages especially in push drafting super speedways you can tell how your engine is reving, and helps you know how long you have got till your going to blow it with overheating. important when you need all your concentration on the bumper of the car in front of you.

Your also know when your breaks are going to lock, at will save you overbreaking and losing control where over wheels wont give you that information. that may not be so important on arcade racers, but if you take up iracing your gona want all the information you can to be competative

yeah I did sign up to iracing a while ago when they had a good deal on but I was using a cheap wheel and it felt strange.

Such a shame I can't live stream Assetto Corsa. Ide like to try the new GRID also but I need to upgrade my gtx460 before I play it I think

The new grid is great as a fun arcade racer, it runs well on a 290x with triple screens.
Iv got assetto corsa too, and it has potential. Iracing really is head and shoulders above anything else out there, but is more a sport than a game, i guess thats why they call it sim racing. and yep once you got your wheel sorted, then i think the next step is to look at your graphics card, if you really get into it, then one day you be thinking about triple screens somewhere in the future, So that should be considered when buying a GPU.
If you wanted to get something that will do the job, and you can put the extra saving to a new card, look at the logitech driving force GT, of course it does not have the wheel vibration motors, but a lot of people prefer that over a g27, comes with pedals, and can be picked up cheap. Perhaps about £60-70 second hand.
it will do the job as a starter, I would consider it the bare min for sim racing, but I mean that in a good way. Its up to the job

yeah I hear triple screen is the way to go. Im currently running dual screen but its no good for sim racing lol.

Hope you don't mind jumping in on your thread op, but I'm also looking to grab a wheel, pedals and shifter, been looking at the thrustmaster ts500.

Anyone used this any can offer opinions? Just looking for this best I can get really but don't want to pay a ridiculous amount.

Never owned one, but know many that do, think there is a new wheel out from thrustmaster. They are good wheels, The FFB is excellent i hear and is very strong. has good brackets which can be used on a desk. there are lots of reviews you should look at them all and weigh up the pro"s and cons. You will pay a little bit more than the CSR though, and does not come with wheel vibration motors, which IMO puts the fanatec versions above, especially as this can also be applied to the club sport pedals which have an ABS vibration motor on the break pedal, which lets you know when your locking up. I dont think it works unless you have a fanatec wheel, though im not sure, if someone else can confirm.
I know a friend got one, he loved it, but still upgraded to a fanatec club sport wheel. however general concensus would say tree order goes logitech Driving force-g25/7-Fanatec GT2/3/CSR-ThrustmasterT500-FanatecClub Sport

No worries bud. I did look at a thrustmaster ts500 but its a little out of my price range really as I want to upgrade my gtx460 graphics card too
