PC whistles on boot then stops

Hello all,

After spending about an hour trying to see what is making the loudest noise in my PC to see if I should upgrade the fans or not, I come across a slight high pitched whistling noise on boot. I have no idea what could have caused the noise but I think when I was unplugging the fan headers, I might have knocked something. Not sure where in the case the whistling noise is but it goes away after a few mins.
I did change the frequency of my RAM to 1657 because it was at 1357 MHz and the sticks where running at 667MHz each. I swear the kit was at 1600MHz. Specs are in the signature.

Any help would be great.

Reduce your memory back down and see if it goes

i doubt ram would make that noise, check your fans, g-card fans and cpu fan and see if there is cables in the way or if something is touching or blocking the fans

Still worth trying since it was the only thing increased before it happened

Lots of graphics cards screech if the PCIE power adaptors aren't plugged in properly. Give them a good reseat
