Im sure someone in here could help as its more gaming focused.. basically ive upgraded to Windows 8 and have a Windows.old folder on my C Drive.

This looks like a replica of all I used to have, games etc... so in theory do I just copy the game folder across and it will work?

Also can I just delete this windows.old if I don't want anything from there? Its taking up a chunk of space!

Stuff in Windows.old can safely be deleted if you are a) sure that everything has restored properly and/or b) you don't want to ever roll back to your previous windows version.

As to the games, you can try just copying the folders out of windows.old but they may need the associated registry keys and whatnot that a proper installation will write.

As noted by Clay, any games that rely on the registry to store data probably won't work, and you'd be best off reinstalling those.

To remove the windows.old folder, go to the start screen and type cleanmgr. Choose "Clena up System Files", and you'll be able to select old windows installations.

Cheers, I went with the clean WIN8 install option... I just grabbed some Docs that I had left on the C... most of the stuff I downloaded/non games documents I put on the D, so its mainly game installations/spybot type software that stays on the C

I suppose save games I might need to bring over.
