Hi

Does anyone have any ideas how to proceed, Iv'e got a friends PC which doesnt have a network socket to link into my network. The PC needs cleaning up and XP updates etc. The machine has plenty USB sockets, is there any way i can use USB to RJ45.

Any comments welcome.

You should be able to find such an adapter, if you've got a BT modem handy you can also connect to the net via USB.

Or more easily install PCI Ethernet card. :D

That is pretty rare nowadays, you do get USB - ethernet adapters (D-Link made some although there may be more), I know because I got given a couple with an order, no idea how well they work though. Other than that as Will_3rd suggest a PCI ethernet adapter might be even easier. :)
