My pc

Seasonic 650 watt psu
i7 4770k 3.5 ghz
8 gb ram 2666mhz
Ssd evo 840 and intel plus 2 tb hdd
Asus maximus IV impact itx motherboard
R9 280 3gb graphics card.

I have a few issues pc does not keep time and i have replaced the batttery, it kept time for a few weeks then went back to how it was losing time, i have replaced it twice.

Pc does not always shut down, i shut pc down amd it restarts itself probably 70% of the time.

I cant run any games for more than 5 mins before the computer crashes,

I ran some tests on cpu and it kept failing after a few mins,

I have installed windows on another hard drive.to see if its software issue but i had same problems

The pc is nearly 5years old and have over 5k hours in one game not sure if that has a bearing on amything but what do you think could be wrong with PC? Or is it time for a new one? Id rather fix this one tbh

That Samsung 840 EVO wasn't exactly best product with that TLC Flash with too small transistors, but it certainly shouldn't affect clock.
Pretty much any part could cause crashing, but that clock reseting is harder to explain.

Have you checked Event Viewer for errors with timing close to crashes?

Also were those batteries from same batch?
In that case did you check voltage with multimeter?
Wouldn't be unheard of having basically empty batteries in packet.
Though empty battery shouldn't cause crashing.

Have you tested memory?
Bad memory could certainly cause crashes.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS and reconfiguring the BIOS?
I've seen instability after upgrading a BIOS and not clearing the CMOS before.
Try popping the memory in and out a few times to get it seated well.

If it persists and you have a friend with a PC you could try swapping over components until you find whats causing the instability. I'd try memory, GFX, PSU. If yours becomes stable or theirs becomes unstable you've found the culprit.

I think i'll replace the battery and psu first, i can always reuse psu if i build new pc if i still get problems i can alternative the ram to see if one of the sticks is faulty after that will look to beg for gpu to test.
