Hello all, I'm not up on network stuff ect so I'm hoping there is a simple soloution to my problem.

When I boot up my PC I have no interent access, what I then have to do is go into device manager and disable my network adapter card then re enable it, I then get internet access, so while this isnt a major problem it is a bit annoying having to do it everytime I switch my PC on.

I'm using a WIRED connection by the way, also this problem only occurs with windows 7 ( got 7 & XP dual boot ), when I boot into XP it's fine.I've tried updating my driver but it's the most upto date one, any help much appreciated.

Bit of a strange one.... have you tried uninstalling the network adapter in device manager and then restarting the machine so it re-installs again?
Not sure what MOBO you have but if you have dual NICs it might be worth trying to disable any that aren't used.

The other thing to check is your router is up to date with firmware etc and maybe try setting a DHCP reservation or even using a fixed IP on the NIC in windows.

I just had a similar problem with mine although it only happens like once every blue moon. Basically I can connect with the router but the gateway (modem) I'm unable to reach. I can't remember if it affected other machines last time this time it must have been just mine as I just switched it over to the over LAN socket (dual LAN) and it worked. Rather annoying as last time I couldn't find a solution. I guess it's either a Windows problem with more than one adapter be it wireless or wired or the onboard NICs are crap.
