PC doesn't boot up with the graphics card inserted.
It happened last year but haven't had any time to look at it until now so have just used it without it - and it's been fine for 7 months.

Graphics card works in a friends PC.

So I'm not sure if it's the Power Supply, Motherboard or a intermittent Graphics Card problem. Maybe it's a RAM issue? I have no idea really so intend to just replace some parts and if it wasn't that, I have a spare for the future.

Can anyone please recommend new components?
I don't need amazing specs - so components that would probably go into a £500-£650 build would suffice.

Current parts I may want/need to change out: (excluding the CPU)

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
MSI H67MA-E35 Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) **B3 REVISION**
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out those components in more detail later today.

My current spec does for what I need it for - but I built it in 2011 and it's always had a few little niggles like driver crashes when playing SCII and now the boot issue.

So I thought about trying to just replace the part causing the fault...but now I'm thinking - why bother when I could just upgrade the whole thing as it's 3 years old anyway.

Plus, I've tried various combinations of components in a mates PC and everything seems to run fine when individually put into another PC...
It just doesn't work when all together...annoying.

BUT...that means I should at least have spares in case of an emergency.

Have you tried to update the bios from a usb drive ?

Sorry yes I had to do that. Didn't come up with any error message at first so wasn't sure what was happening.

It's installed now.

I'll install the gpu again later to try it out.

Still going to upgrade like - but if I can get this setup running I might just keep it and buy another PC because my wife uses this constantly so it wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd one anyway
