Hi guys,

I've just had my 8800GT RMA'd and so I have no graphics card in my system. A chap at work generously brought in a spare Gigabyte 6600GT for me to use whilst my RMA is being processed.

I've installed this PCI-E card and when I bootup I get - 9.0. display on my motherboard (Abit AB9 Pro) LED diagnostic panel. 9.0. in my manual says "Complete uGuru initial process AWARD BIOS take over booting job".

I've tried clearing CMOS which does nothing.

Does anyone know what the problem is here? I would be very greatful if someone could help me! :(

Could be a RAM issue.

Put 1 stick of RAM in the 3rd slot away from the CPU.

Before you do this, turn off the PSU switch at the back and remove your BIOS battery for ten minutes.

Use these 10 mins to treat yourself to a nice brew

Put battery back in.

Power it up.

If this works, enter BIOS and set your RAM to correct speeds, timings and voltage.

How could this be a RAM issue when all I did was take out my 8800GT parceled it up, brought home the 6600GT and installed it? I will try this though of course.

Push the card firmly into the slot, 9.0 is normaly when the gfx card is hanging out.

I've tried this 3 times, still no solution :(

Turn PC on and push the reset button straight away?

I have to do this with my set up if I had removed them for whatever reason.

I think with me it's due to the delay in the fans spinning up.

Never heard of that one before mate, I don't have a reset button anyway lol! I've got a custom built case decided to leave it off
