PC wont boot after installing extra drive

I bought an extra 2tb drive for extra storage but after installing it windows won't load. It freezes at the window logo for a sec then restarts and prompts me to use Startup Repair which isn't detecting anything.

The bios recognises all devices and I've checked the boot sequence. I've disconnected all spare drives and removed all cards except gpu after resetting the CMOS (removed battery) yet still getting the same.

Any ideas ?

Are your sata ports set to AHCI

Not sure, could that have been changed after installing the drive?

Can you still turn on the pc without the 2tb hard drive?

No, I disconnected the new drive but having same problem

Reset bios
And see if it turns on
Can you use the 2Tb hard drive as boot drive?
If you have a copy of windows see if you ca install on that hard drive

Check all cables and ram are seated properly, also try one stick of ram.

Check all cables full stop, including power cables.

Got to ask but did you plug new drive in while PC was turned on?

This is your windows OS hdd?

Check to see if SATA ports are set to ahci,if they are set to IDE and try

No had pc switched off. Checked all cables. :-(

If you can install os on another hard drive
You can rule out hardware problems
And you will just need a new copy of windows on the main drive

Ok changed the Sata ahci and i got passed windows logo but now it's not letting me log in as keyboard ain't working

Ok back in with all drives and cards removed. Will try adding drives and cards back one at a time

Ok, it's now not detecting drive at all when in windows.
Actually I can see it in device manager but can't see it in Computer.

Plus the net ain't working. Oh the pain

have you formatted the drive and assigned it a drive letter?

you need to go to disk management and mount the drive (format + partition + name + drive letter)
