PC wont boot after installing Sound card

hi,
i bought a used asus sound card,i installed it in my new sandy bridge pc then pc wont boot at all,i cleared cmos which made the fans spin for 1 sec then stop & keep doing this,what is the problem any1 knows ?

the guy who sold me the card said it was new but not compatible with his mobo`it was not NEW & i think its faulty too,thats why he sold it.

btw i have taking the sound card out of my pc.

so does it boot fine without soundcard in?
by boot do you mean post or load into windows?

Does your pc work without the card in?

If so then, if possible try it in another pc, or return it to point of sale.

no,fans just keep on spinning for 5 seconds then stop.

if it still wont post after removing the card then you might of possibly damaged the motherboard when fitting it.

i managed to get my mobo to start at last !! if you experience anything like this just clear cmos & remove 1 of the mem sticks & turn pc on,once booted to windows you can turn it off & re-install the mem stick. problem solved.

if you value your new pc & your time then dont buy used parts of ebay.
