Hey guys,

I've recently upgraded some of the hardware in my PC

new the updates are as follows,

motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7
CPU: Devils canyon core i7 4790k
RAM: Vengeance Pro Red 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (CMY16GX3M2

Now, since i've added the new RAM the PC fails to boot. I get a small start up for up to around 8 seconds where all stock fans and cpu fans fire up then it just shuts down and continues to do this in a loop.

So i reverted back to my old 8gb XMS corsair Ram the PC boots up fine.

any help would be greatly appreciated

did you test with just the new ram installed? tested one ram stick at a time?

and running latest motherboard bios?

Okay, so i removed the battery for a few minutes and then tried one stick at a time and it still fails boot.

I then put my old ram back in to which it took me to the bios asking to load optimized settings

Okay slight progress, i've managed to get on of the sticks recognised but when i put the second one in i get the same boot failure

tried the non booting stick in all the ram slots one at a time? if it doesn't boot from any of the slots repeat test with working stick

if it boots from each slot with working stick, then your other stick is dead

Okay tried this and it would appear the stick is dead.

thankyou for all your help and i'll be getting in touch with overclockers to rectify the problem as i've only recently purchased this from them.

thanks again
