Tried everything I can think of but I cant get this damned thing to boot from the DVD drive. The drive works, reads discs fine, drive is as boot priority in the BIOS, however when I boot from it, the PC thinks about it for a sec then just opens the BIOS again.

Board is a Maximus Formula VI.

What am I doing wrong here?

A quick check on-line of the manual (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-FORMULA/E8336_Maximus_VI_Formula.pdf)(page ix) tell me that the ASmedia SATA ports are only for data hards drive. ATAPI devices are not supported. I think you have to plug the DVD drive into one of the Intel SATA ports instead.

Done exactly same thing.

easy way I found to test this is keep pressing F12 on boot up, you then get the "Quick boot menu", if you can see the CD drive there you know its working right :)
