Hi, my brothers PC won't go into windows when the G9 or G5 mouse is plugged in. I saw it over Xmas, and I thought that it was a G9 issue, but now he sold the G9 and got a G5, and it does this

then the PC does nothing. he has to unplug the mouse, and then restart pc, and once the PC is in windows, he can plug the mouse back in. This doesnt happen with old crappy mice. only with these 2 ( he hasnt tested any other good ones like the MX518, Deathadder, MS3.0 etc)
Any ideas how this can be fixed? It is the weirdest problem ever.
His specs, so far that I know of
AMD X2 4200+
8800GT ( with his 1650pro the problem also happened)
650watt psu ( with his 300watt the problem also occurred)
2gig DDR2 6400
all temperatures are fine
Windows Xp 32bit
I dont know which motherboard though.
