Hi all

I am having some issues with the new PC I built. It wont boot :(

Basically if I flick the power switch for the power supply it powers up for about 30secs and turns itself off. I havent cabled the power switch from the case yet. I also get no display at all. Even if I remove the power to HDD and DVD I still get no display and it turns itself off.

If I take all the memory out then it powers up and does 3 long beeps and stays powered up but with no display. I put the graphics card (ATI All-in-Woaphics nder X800GT 128MB DVB-T TV tuner PCI-E OEM graphics card ) in another old machine which does boot with the card but I still see nothing.

I then replaced the card in the new PC with the old card (Connect3D X1550 512MB GDDR2 PCI-E) from the old PC.The old card works fine in the old PC. In the new PC, if I flick the switch it tries to spin up but dies within a second! What I dont get is the old card doesnt seem to be as powerful as the new one and the new PC cannot handle it at all.

Any thoughts? Do you reckon the mobo in the new machine is duff? Or do you reckon the graphics card is duff as well?

My spec of the new PC that wont boot is as follows.
  • Intel BOXDP965LTCK P965 socket 775 Core2Duo ready DDR2 onboard Audio ATX
  • 2 x 2Gb OCZ DDR2 PC2-5400 Value Series CL5 Dual Channel kit(5-5-5-15 1.8V)
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86Ghz) Socket 775 FSB1066 4MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
  • Antec TruePower Trio 430W PSU - With 3x 12v Rails 120mm Fan
  • ATI All-in-Wonder X800GT 128MB DVB-T TV tuner PCI-E OEM graphics card
  • 2 x Maxtor STM3250310AS 250GB SATAII 8MB Cache - OEM
  • LG GDR-H30NBL 52x16 DVD-Rom Black - OEM

TIA

Have you plugged both the 20/24 pin ATX lead AND the 4/8 pin 12v lead to the motherboard?

Have a good look around and make sure everything is seated correctly and all cables are connected properly.
