PC wont boot properly - Help please

Hi all

My PC is failing to boot up this morning. It is trying to boot and will allow me via the escape key to get into the BIOS but I cant get it to boot fully.

Not sure what is the best way to diagnose the problem from here, whether its HW or SW, any help greatfully received

What error message (if any) does it give when it tries to load the OS?
Does it get that far?

The screen stays blank unless i press the escape key to get into the BIOS so dont get any error message

Do you get any beeps from the internal speaker? If so how many & short/long?

No, no beeping at all

Have checked the PSU, graphics cards, memory sticks, HDDs, Cd drives and none of those cauing problem.

Have removed the battery to the the Mobo to reset the CMOS, still no joy

tried to boot from a disc but no change

Is it now a case that the motherboard must have failed or is there anything else that could be causing the problem?
