Hi all,

Last night i tried unistall my nvidia drivers for a GTX 580, as i was going to test a GTX 295 for a friend, to see if that card was working ok.

As i tried to unistall the drivers from nvidia, the PC froze, so i had to do a reboot of the PC, this is where the problem now starts, as i reboot, the PC says that it is loading the OS system, the screen then goes blank and black.

Nothing boots up.

I have been into BIOS and defaulted all settings, as my system was O/C to 4.0Ghz.

I have also tried to start the system with the CD, the system then goes to load windows 7, but again sits on the loading screen for windows, it then loads up (i think) but there is a black screen, with just a mouse cursor.

Im totally confused and any help would be really appreciated.

Or is it time to do a complete reinstall of Win 7, which i dont really want to do, as there are items on the PC i want to keep.

Any help would greatly appreciated, i will do my best to answer any questions that are asked.

Regards

I have tried to boot with the GTX 295, and i tried without the GTX 295 and my screen just went dark completely. No response at all.

Just said loading OS system then the screen goes all dark, computer stays on, but nothing on the screen.

Right i have tried to boot into safe mode with F8 but it does not respond, i havent tried F5 which i have read may also activate safe mode.

Thanks for the above guys, i will try when i get home from work. Fingers crossed i will be able to get into the PC by using F5.

All other suggestions are very welcome.

Would you say its goes black at roughly the same time windows would normally start to use the graphics drivers or is it during POST?

As above i would see if you can get into safe mode and go from there

In answer to your question yes, as windows should load then it goes black, i am unable to get into safe mode, tried F8 and F5 to no avail.

Could the HD have failed?? the PC enters BIOS ok but just wont attempt to boot to windows at all

Hi guys,

Thanks all for your contributions and ideas, some i have now taken on board.

I couldnt get my HD to boot in any mode possible. So in the end i put a WD Raptor in and installed Win7 Ultimate on that.
System is now up and running again with no issues, i will now attempt to try and hook up the other HD, in an attempt to get all the information off of that.

Again thanks
