Hi everyone,

My PC wouldn't boot previously and I wanted to eventually downsize, I put an mATX mobo in today, ASRock H61M-DG3

I went to boot it up after putting it all back together again and it now won't boot up properly,

When the PC gets to the 'Starting Windows' and then a blue screen flashes up before then going to another screen saying that windows can't start properly and I have two options,

Repairs windows (recommended) and Start Windows Normally,

Selecting repair windows it then tries to fix the issue, fails and then asks to send details to microsoft and then 'finish' to shut down the PC,

Is it a problem with the boot SSD that I use? maybe that has given up on me?

Any suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ED209,

I am using sata 2 ports, the new ASRock mATX doesn't have sata3 ports, the blue screen flashes up and goes in an instant so can't get any info from that,

I will try with one stick of RAM out and loosen the CPU cooler and see if it changes anything,

Thanks for all the help

Tried with only one stick of RAM and loosening the CPU cooler but that didn't work either, another person suggested having to completely reinstall windows due to changing the mobo...

Hi guys,

It doesn't start in safe mode it says windows can't boot and asks to start windows and repair,

It's Windows 7, where is this option to stop windows rebooting automatically? I can't reinstall anything as I can't get to windows in the first place

Also tried disconnecting every drive except the OS drive, it recognises the drive in the BIOS but still doesn't boot properly,

Think a windows reinstall may be the only way to go?
