So yesterday i decided to take my pc apart and give it a clean as been noticing while playing some games its lagging and getting warm so pulled it apart.
Anyway did everything i normally do take the gfx card out give that a clean and clean all radiators fans etc so there cooling properly refitted and checked and everything was fine ie it booted up then turned it off.

Come today i wanted to do a day of gaming and when i boot the pc up it starts loading windows then where it normally goes to the windows log in page u get a black screen and nothing else happens the pc is still running but on the monitor nothing is happening. Tried resetting and same issue..

I just dont understand as didnt unplug anything different or didnt do anything different on it than i normally do and turned it off the normal way of shutting down and now im stuck as no idea what to do any ideas??

edit :sorry if this in the wrong section..

yeah its plugged in n its a 8pin board but with a 4pin plug i put them on the top 4 sure thats where it goes. Just annoying as had today planned and cant get it to work grr

It's just a way of resetting the BIOS. There's usually a jumper on the mobo or you can just take the battery out for a few minutes and put it back in.

yeah theres a battery on it will pull it out its just annoying me as went from working to now it wont even turn on the screen so no idea what i have done it was working fine now wont grrr.. or when the screen does comes on the screen is flickering. Think i might just leave it for the day and then try again tomorrow or il end up throwing it out of the window like i did my last pc

When you pull GFX out, cleaning just radiators & fan is not sufficient when it overheats, you'd better change thermal grease there for something good obviously (like AC5, STG-2 etc).
Blank screen might be caused by oxidised slots or sockets, this is not rare when you dismantle "old" PC, put it back and BLINK it won't turn on. Just clean all of them to make sure all contacts are fine again.
Hopefully you do all these jobs with ESD wrist strap.

I did put some paste on but didnt have enough so only put abit on so will see if i can get a hold of some tomorrow and then redo. i wouldnt call it a old pc but giving the points a clean might be a good idea n no esd strap i just get stuck in never knew you needed one. haha
