Hello,
Every few months I will wake up to a BSOD.
My computer will then continue to BSOD on start up.
Removing all sticks of RAM (2 x 4gb) booting then restarted and then just putting one stick of RAM in fixes it.

As soon as I put the other RAM stick in my computer will just not boot, it comes on for 3 seconds and then reboots.

It doesn't matter what slots they are in or if I swap the RAM around it just happens when I have more than 4GB RAM in.

Here are some specs.

Intel Core i5 2500
Gigabyte PA65-UD3-B3
Kingston HyperX http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS&tool=3

Maybe the settings in the bios are wrong, but unfortunatly I don't know what they should be set at. I've tried a few different configurations but it still wont work.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if that motherboard can use 4 x 4GB (16GB) of Kingston Hyperx sticks.

I found that lowering my RAMfreq to 800 (even though they are mean't to run at 1600) with both sticks in stops it rebooting every 3 seconds, but still wont boot into windows.

How much of an impact does 800 compared to 1600 make?

I'm thinking of buying 1 8gb ram stick and scraping the two 4gb sticks.

are you setting x.m.p for your memory in the bios? you need two sticks to run in dual channel, one stick will just run in single channel mode

it will be in the bios if your memory supports it,x.m.p is a profile that sets up all the memory speed/timings/voltages for you
