Yesterday my car broke, now my PC appears to be bust too! If anybody can help I'll be majorly grateful!

Components:

ASUS P5B Deluxe
Intel 6300 CPU
2gb Transcend Dual Chan Memory
ATi 1900XT (i think) GPU

The Problem:
Basically, the PC boots up (everything powers on, beeps, lights come on the case etc) BUT it just hangs at the POST screen (where it does the memory count, reads the CPU you've got it error) and just stops. It says press F8 for setup etc but the keyboard is dead. Tried putting another keyboard in but still no luck. Tried unplugging all the non-essentials - nothing. Really don't know what to try now!!
This has been working for about one month without fault, its just suddenly happened when I switched it on today.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

obvious out the way

Sounds like it could be trying to read the IDE/ SATA info. Try unlugging all peripherals and booting again, see if it posts and gives a boot error.

Make sure all USB connections are unplugged.

Make sure the CD/DVD trays are empty. My PC hangs at POST for about 2 minutes if I leave a non-bootable CD in the DVD drive.
