Pc Won't Boot !

Hi

I hope someone can help me.
I built my pc about a month ago & all was well until i turned it on this morning.
I get 1 beep, then it says 'Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk & press enter'.
I look in the bios & it does not detect my sata2 hard drive although it detects my sata dvd & cd rom drives & my memory.
So i put an old sata hdd in & it does not detect that either.
I tried putting the sata cable into another port on the mb, no luck.
Also i have flIashed the bios to the latest version, still nothing.
When i boot from my windows disk, it does not detect it & asks me to load
the driver, but I have read that this motherboard does not require drivers & there are not any on the Gigabyte website anyway. Please help.

Also I removed the cmos battery & put it back in with no luck

Tried a different SATA cable?

check that there is power going to the hard drive , change the leads around with your sata dvd drive (power and sata)

listen to the drive to see if it spins up , if it dosent , try your other drive again.

check bios to make sure all sata options are enabled.
