Hi,

I tried to change the ACHI settings following some guide I found on the net and now it won't start up.. Quick run through of what i did:

1) change registry msachi - start from 3 to 0 ( i think this was meant to be done as administrator, but i didnt - maybe this is the problem?)

2) reboot
3) enabled achi in bios

Now it won't start up... it gets to the point where it says pci something loaded, then nothing happens

Any ideas?

I tried disabling achi again in bios, still no luck.
Thanks

I know its too late now but you should change the HDD mode from IDE to AHCI without an OS re-install.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Host_Controller_Interface

"Intel recommends choosing RAID mode on their motherboards (which also enables AHCI) rather than the plain AHCI/SATA mode for maximum flexibility, due to the issues caused when the mode is switched once an operating system has already been installed."

As already mention, revert the BIOS settings to what they were orginally set. Changing the registry is going to be a bit more tricker as you need to boot into Windows to do so. It maybe possible to boot of a WINPE CD, import the registry and amend.
