above are my specs. i changed the cooler to face up and the pc now wont boot. i thought it was the motherboard. i have rma'd this and it came back today.

when i connect everything up the psu fan spins for a few seconds then the pc resets.

i think the problem is either the cpu or the cooler.

any ideas how to get this working again.

Test the power supply first

If that works, and all cables are seated correctly (including the 12v motherboard connection) then it's likely the motherboard

Have tried the power supply in another pc and it works fine.

The motherboard has been rma and returned today same problem

Could be a number of things......are you sure that the motherboard isnt shorting itself out?

Place the Motherboard outside of its case on the motherboard box and connect everything up, leave off the videocard and use the on board graphics.

Also reseat the RAM.
I also noticed that your RAM is 1.65v, was your PC working fine before?

Hi I have tried the motherboard on a box and I get the same problem.

The pc was working fine until I changed the cooler so that the fan faced from towards the ram to towards the top of the case.

Once I did this it stopped working. I then rma the motherboard. Gigabyte repaired it and sent it back but some problem,

If it is the motherboard does anyone have any recommendations.

I now have patriot ram and a 7970 card to use aswell

I might rma the processor first

Press front panel power button then soon as fans spin turn off at rear of psu,do this few times then let pc powerup normally, could be corrupted main BIOS,it will recover from backup BIOS

Tried with onboard graphics?

I had the exact same problem, I'm actually looking in to it again but so far I've concluded it is the motherboard. I'm going to buy another mobo to help determine this 100%. Can anyone recommend a 1366 socket mobo for under £200 with USB 3.0 and Sara 6gbps capabilities whilst I'm on here?

Sounds like you may have damaged the CPU somehow when changing the cooler then. If the motherboard has been returned as working it's the only thing left really.

Yes was the CPU.

I tried it in another pc and by eliminating each part the CPU was the problem.

Sent it to intel but it is stuck in Brussels ahh should have reached the Netherlands on friday
