PC won't off...

So,

Have to repair some ones PC because I'm the only tech person they know, which generally means I have to do it for free.. Anyway. This PC doesn't have any problems aside from the fact that it just won't turn off. You tell it to shut down, the screen goes off but the PC is still on and the power LED is lit up and the PC fans are still fanning.

Any ideas? I've done a full reinstall already and took the CMOS battery out and left it to no avail.

Try turning everything off except for micrsoft in the services tab in the system config.

Type "msconfig" into the start box, in the general tab tick "selective start up" and also tick "load system services".

Now go to the services tab, tick "hide all microsoft services" and untick every other service in the box above.

Restart and try to shut down, if it shuts down you know that one of the services is at fault, tick one by one until you narrow it down.

Try shutting down in safe mode, so you can rule out any software issues. If it still happens then could be a PSU issue or worse case motherboard.
