The problem i'm having is as soon as i clock over 6gig on the cpu the pc won't cold boot, it stops mid way through post and requires me to enter bios although NOT change anything and exit, then it boots up fine. This issue doesn't occur on a restart either. It's as if its resetting the cmos as the ram info is displayed but is incorrect but somehow entering and exiting the bios resolves this. The battery is fine and so is it's connection. It isn't a major problem but it isn't perfect, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

lol yeah it should be stable, plenty have gotten an e5200 to 8 and beyond. everything else is fine just cold boot

both cores read the same or there abouts so forgive me if i'm wrong, where should i be getting a reading from? everything says around the same whether it's bios, the os, cpuz, speedfan, pcwizard u name it.

I can't change the nb voltage unfortunately, nor the ram volt. not the greatest mobo.

yep id say i have, took long enough doing it. so what reading am i supposed to believe and any other ideas as to the boot problem?

I've tried all other volts through cpu think it's on 1.47v currently, more doesn't make it stable i've tried. could play with the fsb but i found to get this speed and with the ram half decent this was the sweet spot (334/1336). suppose its just one of those things i'll have to live with unless i want it running at less than 3gig per core :(

lol yeah i see your point but the boot prob only goes when below 3 and performance isn't great at that point. An i7 920 d0 would satisfy me i'm sure but moneys another thing. Even at 4 it cant run games properly, onboard graphics are poo and the mobo graphics accelerator just causes a load of issues in itself, believe it or not but burning out usb devices being one of them!

yeah do a lot of encoding and authoring, also its more bang for my buck aint it. good fun too making the most out of what have.
