Hey guys,

I've built a new workstation for the office, and im having a wierd problem. The thing will not boot, won't even POST unless i use the jumper to clear the CMOS each time. I've RMA'd the motherboard once but the new one is doing it too. If i clear the CMOS, it will boot up, i can go into bios, but if i change anything in the BIOS and restart, i get nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Abit AN52 Mobo
X2 5600 + CPU
4 x 1Gb OCZ RAM
Hiper 550W PSU
Radeon HD2600 GPU

4 sticks of ram? Take out 2 and see if that works.

Maybe you have to set the memory speed yourself and not use auto settings.

Well it must be a default bios setting that your hardware doesnt like. When you get in there, can you load the failsafe profile settings and boot?

Tried that as well, nothing :/

With the last motherboard, before i RMA'd it, i tried to flash the BIOS from a floppy. It would get as far as running the flash program, but then just sit there flashing 'Please wait!', i left it like that for about an hour and nothing. I'm assuming this one would do the same but is it worth trying to flash the BIOS?

Remove everything that isnt needed. Re-seat the cpu and memory. Even take the mobo from the case and power it up on the floor.

use 1 stick of ram, use a PCI graphics card (if you have one) dont plug in any HDDs or external fans.

Try a different make of ram.
