PC - won't post

So a couple of weeks ago my PC started going funny, pressing the on button would result in a delay before the PC turned on. When on the PC would be fine.

All the kit is just under 2 years old.

Now the PC won't turn at all. No beeps, no fans the only sign of life is a power led.

The power supply works fine in a friends PC. I've tried an identical motherboard and a different sckt 939 processor. No joy.

I don't know what to test next. The only common factors are the memory, the hsf and me! I have 4 mem sticks and I've tried different combinations of them.

Its not the case as the motherboard has its own power switch.

What is the minimum kit you need to plug in to make the motherboard spin its fan up?

I have :

DFI LanParty Ultra-D
Sckt 939 Opteron 247
4 x 512 Geil DDR value sticks
8700 GTX gfx
Zalman 460W power supply

Other bits all unplugged.

Any help/tips appreciated

Have you tried someone elses PSU in your system? A 2 year old 460W PSU have some lost some wattage and not providing enough for your system to boot.
