PC won't post

Hi,

I went to shut down my PC (windows 8) and accidentally clicked sleep. When I tried to turn it back on now it won't post. The CPU fan won't spin up, though the other power comes on. The monitor says no cable. Any ideas?

Unplug it from the wall for 30 seconds to drain the PSU, press the power button while unplugged.

Thanks, I just cleared the CMOS which may do something similar? It lept into life and said the CMOS checksum had failed, then reloaded it and all is fine

Crisis averted, almost bought a new PC

Well this is really wacky, now it is back on it came back from sleep even though it had been off at the wall!
