Recently my pc will not power on with the power button, no fans start or anything. The light on my motherboard shows it is getting power but nothing happens. It turns on every now and then but doesn't always power on. Then this morning a power surge happened from my PSU whilst trying to fix it and it turned on. Please help me fix this problem.

My crystal ball has same problem of not powering on...
So how about telling what kind coffee machine you have there.
Though I suspect it involves PSU with cheap Chinese capacitors.
As PSU is major culprit for boot problems and capacitors the component usually limiting their endurance.

How do you know there was a power surge? Do you have your PC connected to a UPS?

And what does "trying to fix it" mean? What were you actually doing when it turned on?
