Hi,

I have a strange issue where my PC won't boot and doesn't display the POST screen when starting up, when I have a Garmin running watch connected by USB. I've tried different USB ports but the same happens. I don't think it's a boot priority issue as I don't even see the BIOS or POST, just a black screen.

I'm not sure if the watch is faulty, it seems to charge from mains USB fine and operates normally.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Have you tried booting the PC without the watch connected and then connecting the watch after windows loads? Have this issue at work with our PCs and staff pen drives.

I tried and got a "USB device malfunctioned" warning by Windows. I then tried connecting to a USB port at the back of the PC and it's working fine... about to try a reboot... maybe it is port-specific after all. [edit] Yeah it's fine on this port, just not the one at the front of the PC. I've never had any other problems with the front ports.

Front ports are sometimes lower power that the ones on the back, the watch may need more juice and thus throwing up errors.
