pc wont shutdown !

My Ubuntu PC has started to reboot everytime I shutdown. Any ideas why ?

'shutdown -h now', that oughta do it.

It shuts down then starts up again!
If I do sudo halt it will stop and then I can hold in per button and it will then stay off otherwise it will just start back up again. I have wol disabled

Needs to shut down with GUI button as PC is for mother in law and needs to to idiot proof

Tried different os on separate disk same error so guess it's hardware related thing is I have not altered any setting

stripped it down and rebuilt and now it works good knows why that was happening!
