PC won't start correctly

Hi Chaps,

Bit of a loose end here.

I'm trying to boot my Windows XP machine, and it's not wanting to play ball at all.

The last time I used it the machine was turned off through a power cut.

It now gets to the screen where it says that Windows won't start correctly, and that a hardware of software change may have caused it.

I've not changed any hardware or software, but as I said, the power cut turned it off last.

It gives me the option to choose Safe Mode, boot normally, boot last known configuration etc.

I select one of these, it gets to the screen where Windows XP and the loading bar pops up, the next screen just goes black, I get the beep, and then it goes back to the choose mode screen.

Any solutions/ideas with this?

I'm guessing my Hard Disk or something must be busted, which would be gutting.

Cheers.

i remembered this as the installation being faulty or the hard drive has given up but

try plugging you hard drive in another pc to see if it picks it up and works then you may

need to back up the stuff you want from your c drive and reinstall windows if the drive

is still working
