Hi All,

when i switch my PC on its wont start up until i have left the power on for about 5 mins then it will start first time, i also have some sounds through the speakers like its trying to kick in.

first initial thoughts are that it is the battery on the MB but could be wrong
motherboard is a Gigabyte GA- X58A- UD7

Anyone know what this might be or how to fix it?

Thanks

Paul

Have you tried to replace the battery so you can remove that as a possibility? Even if the battery was dead tho it should be ok as long as you arent turning the pc off at the wall or unplugging it.

Seems like an old board so it could be the battery, replace that first and see what happens. Having to leave it does sound like CMOS battery.

Actually it only happened that time, still not booting for at least 5-10 minutes :( getting longer too. any ideas or things i could look into? i dont want to have to go and buy a new MB and processor right now. i'm saving up to buy a beast mid next year.
