Hi everyone, just got a new case for my PC, have moved everything over to it, and now when I hit the power button, nothing.

The LED on my ASUS motherboard lights up though, and I've tested the PSU using the paperclip and it started up fine and powered a fan.

I was being really careful to ground myself but I don't know what else I could have done. Nothing has changed and the PC was working fine before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've tried both positions for the connector

I've unplugged and plugged back in the supply supply cable

and I didn't take the heatsink off

How would I go about shorting the pins? And I've tested the power supply by using a paper clip and connecting a fan, does that show it is working fine?

Right I took out the motherboard, and connected the power switch and it switched on!!!! I didnt have a gpu or hdd connected but the CPU fan started up!!

I've just noticed something, the case came with these "Motherboard stands" that you put into the mounting holes, then put the motherboard on them and then screw it in. I just put the motherboard directly on the case, that might have caused it to short circuit in some way??!

Yeah, the video card PCIE wasn't plugged in right!!

Thats it finally working now, thanks for everyone's help! In the end it was just me being silly and careless!!! :\
