Hi, looking for some help please.

My pc is about 4-5 years old, nothing has been changed or been added since I built it. All components have been run at stock no oc'n at all.

PC was running fine but I decided to get a new aio coller to give my cpu some better cooling, it was running on the stock amd cooler, and the fan was getting a bit loud.
Removed the fan cables then pulled the cooler out, unfortunately the cpu came out with it. Managed to pry the cpu off with a hairdryer and a thin blade.

Removed the ram to get better access to a couple of pins. Put the new cooler in, mounted the cooler and connected the power cables. The cooler has some rgb features so attempted to attach it to the correct pins. Unfortuantely two pins broke off the motherboard where both the rgb cables fit in, but I am guessing they are not essential and I can always buy a controller later.
Put the ram back in and pressed the power button and nothing happened. The pc was running fine before so wasn't sure where the problem might lie. Its not the power cord nor the psu as I tested both of them. Tried putting the ram in to all the sockets, one stick at time but no difference still wouldnt start. I am guessing that it is likely to be the cpu or the board, although where the board is concerned a desk lamp that is attached to a top side usb is fine suggesting power is getting to the mobo. The motherboard seems to give a white flash when i connect the power sometimes, other times nothing.

After that I am at a loss, I dont have other parts to swap in and out to help test.
Any advice or help would be appreciated. Looked at a few guides and vids but not sure what to do next.

Thanks:confused:

Hi, first off thank you very much for the replies.

I did what you suggested and installed the ram and reset the cmos. Sadly no difference.

However checked the cpu and I had a couple of bent pins, just as you all thought.
Straightened the pins and put in the cooler. Things looked better as the gfx lit up and all the fans were running but no signal getting to the monitor and my mouse, keyboard etc dont light up. Also a long press of the power button doesnt power down the system as it does normally I have to turn off the power on the back which obviously isnt great.

So its progress but not quite there yet.

Hi, sorry didnt have my pc to allow me to reply sooner.

Tried the battery pull but no change. Removed the cooler again and did indeed find(just :D ) 2 bent pins that required straightening. After fixing them pc started up and is working fine.:)

Thank you SO much for all your help, its been great.

ps if anyone needs has a use for Isopropyl achohol let me know..........I got a bit carried away and order a litre:rolleyes:

Thanks again guys. I did attempt to heat up my system before trying to remove the cooler but I think I caused the problem when I lifted the cooler off. A twisting motion would have been a better way to go.

Anyway as you say good to get it sorted, really appreciate the help.
Thank you again folks :D
