After pwning some n00bs last night I happily shut down my PC before going to bed. This morning I wake up to do some work and go to switch my PC on only to find it's just not turning on.

Opening the case, the mobo is showing it's ready to go but pressing the power switch doesn't do a thing. I also tried pressing the power switch built in to the mobo as well as resetting the CMOS.

I'm now at the point of it sitting in my kitchen but I'm not 100% wanting to strip it right down as it's like a spaghetti junction in there (a semi organised one) so wanted to get some opinions before fault testing, hoping it's something really basic I've managed to overlook.

Specs are:

Corsair 620watt PSU
Abit IP35pro
Q6600 G0 overclocked to 3.2Ghz on air
8gb OCZ Ram ( 5,5,5,12 I think)
Dell Perc 5i (512mb) with 5x500gb in raid 5
1 x 2tb WD Green
1 x 1tb F3
1 x lightscribe dvd drive
8800GTX not oc

TIA

Hotwiring the PSU spins everything up like it should. I'll try removing the ram/gfx card etc and see if I can get it to spin up.

Took out all the RAM and the GFX card and thought I would try removing the CMOS battery, just in case. Took it out, removed the PSU, clicked the power button a few times, then put the button battery back in and plugged the PSU back in and wohoo, it's spinning up! Just need to put the RAM and GFX card back in.

I wonder why it decided to do that though, after 2 years of being totally happy. Could be a glitch or a sign of something on its way out. Still, for the time being it's fixed. :) Thanks for all the help.

I put the PC back together, booted up in to Windows no issues, noticed my Perc 5i hadn't started properly in Device manager (this can happen on a warm boot) so turned off the PC again and then went to switch it on and the same thing occured. :S

Removed the CR2032 battery and again, fired up straight away. This time I've removed my PERC and booted in to Windows, will now shut down and see if it switches on.

I've also burnt a CD of memtest so will give that a go as well. Back in a bit. :)
