PC Wont Start

hi, ive recently had some problems with my pc...hence the post here...

if you dont wanna read basically some games on my pc crash before the graphics bit but my ram has no problems and my main games worked :s

the problem turned serious when i restarted my pc and it restarted itself just after the post screen, so i re-seated everything, then i got no post, just 2 beeps, then 8 beeps, i searched and found this was a vga card problem, so reseated it, then i was back to crashing after the post screen.

i am unsure what to do next as i have no onboard graphics so cant realy isolate that as a problem, so its either my motherboard or graphics card, how should i determine the exact problem? then hopefully i can try solving it.

p.s. i reset my CMOS with the jumper and still the same problem, pc restarts after post screen.
 
ive tried different combinations of ram, to no avail, i tried a new hard drive, an ide one, this gets to the 'start windows in safe mode' screen then whatever i select it restarts straight after.

i still have yet to eliminate the graphics card, mobo and psu from the equation, any advice on what to do next? should i just send mobo n g card off for rma n pay the postage just for them to test it?

edit: i put windows cd in and installed xp over vista and this partition is working, yet to install test everything but seems okay.
