I just build a new pc today, but it won't work at all..

I got the i5 6600k bundle with the gigabyte z170xp-sli motherboard.

16gb ddr4 2133 ram

Zotac amp omega 980ti

Evga supernova 650 g2

Basically when I turn the power on, all fans will start (case, cpu cooler, gpu), but after a second or so gpu will stop spinning, rest will continue and then it'll stop, and restart again.

There's a green light on the gpu, but amber on the motherboard. It's also very very quiet, just hear fans blowing.

Not sure what to do from here :/

People that are helping elsewhere said to try without the gpu, but I cannot for the life of get the gpu out. It's clicked it and I can't reach the plastic holder thing.

I'm puzzled :///

Changing the ram channels rrom black to grey worked... but how come the gpu fans aren't running on the card? I can get into bios for the first time now (through the gpu), but fans not running is worrying me.

Several types of new Nvidia cards now have the fans not operating till it reaches a certain temperature. So that might be it. You can install MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision (not sure if Zotac has a similar program themselves but these two work with all cards) and manually set a new fan profile which has the fans running all the time (just make sure the profile has them running fast enough when temp gets high).

To see if the fans ramp up rightaway, just run a graphics benching program, keep eye on temps and abort if needed.
