I've got an old intel 4 series build I use for a few bits.

CMOS battery died so replaced that this afternoon, ever since however when shutting down the machine, 10-15 seconds later, it powers itself back up?

Fast boot is off too?

Checked bios settings, cleared just incase, all suspect settings I can see are clear. Will definitely check the power button later, cheers all

Left the power cord out of it over night, whacked it back in, nothing stayed shut down.

Soon as it's booted into windows the once, it's just refusing to stay shut down.

Just scouring event logs now.

Edit - Stripped out WiFi card, no improvement, full AV scan, nothing, checked windows power settings, no improvement, noticed that windows update pulled a few intel bits down yesterday I wouldn't have expected so I'm rolling back to a restore point now. The OS is pretty clean and empty though, it's been rebuilt last week.

Finally think I've cracked it hours later, tried lord knows how many things.

Swapped the SSD out for another and put vanilla windows on there, same thing, with nothing installed.

As a last ditch attempt I did a CMOS reset on the board, and replaced the battery again with a Panasonic battery not the cheap one I had kicking around from Amazon.

Low and behold, it now appears to be sorted. I'm not changing reintroducing the other battery but I have a sneaking suspicion it's a quality thing, can't see how it would retain settings but still somehow trigger some form of misbehaviour, but sorted nonetheless!

Had a similar issue to this a long time ago, iirc if you check the event log it should tell you what caused the pc to wake.
Yeah that's always my go to, amazingly there was nothing there, has been flawless since so it's definitely been related to the bios clear / second battery
