I have a strange problem for two days on my PC (see video), the power button fails to turn on the PC but the CM LEDs light up.

As you can see the button lights up and some RGB on the MB too but the PC won't start

The first day, I managed to boot using the start button on the motherboard.

I turned it off afterwards and it started normally.

Yesterday morning, same problem, this time the button did not work, I disconnected usb on the back of my case and it worked and I thought it could be due to a USB3 to USB adapter

Same problem this morning. I had to remove all USB peripherals too boot .

No problem to report since the boot.

I don't understand why this is happening... Any ideas?

Thank you

You could try swapping the power supply see if that narrows down the issue. Had a pc a at work that would not boot randomly and got a new power module and starts every time no problem now. The work pc never displayed any problems so hard to point anything out. I think it got stepped down from an 850 to a 650 too but im off a for a day so would have to check that.

Unfortunately I don't have a spare psu but I could always order one on amazon and check.. if it's not working i'll send it back.

Any advice on a good PSU? I would love to be able to use my bitfenix cable and not buy new one though..

Might want to test existing PSU without the BitFenix cables.

Could be mobo but I'd suspect something to do with PSU purely because the same happened to one of my systems many moons ago. Had to unplug USB peripherals so it would start up, till PSU was replaced. You could also try disabling Fast Boot in both the BIOS and in Windows' Power options.

Thanks ! I just used the original 24pin and seems to work now..

You're welcome. See how it goes. If it turns out to have been the extension cables, and you're positive you connected them properly, I would contact BitFenix to let them know.

I have an issue with system shorting. It was due to unplugged cables or a loose connection (cant be sure what I did except plug all cables in). Thought it was the PSU! Bought another but my original still works so sending back lool.
